Officer R. Nov. 29 when a teacher at the neighboring North Point High School, located at 2500 Davis Road in Waldorf, approached him to report the robbery. The initial investigation revealed that shortly after the North Point's dismissal bell rang, two men in their 20s, who were not students, entered the school and approached the student, a 17 year old male, in the hallway. One of the men, later identified as Daryl Timothy Young, 20, of Waldorf, stole a pair of Nike Air Jordan Olympic 7 Retro basketball sneakers, which the student was carrying. During the robbery, Young reached for his waistband and implied he had a weapon. The teacher witnessed the incident and confronted Young, who again reached for his waistband and implied Powder Blue 10s for sale he was armed. Young and his accomplice left the school and had last been seen walking down Davis Road.Officer Anderson entered is patrol car and drove down Davis Road, where he quickly found and detained the two suspects. As a result of the investigation, the officer charged Young with robbery and transported him to the Charles County Detention Center, where he was being held pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Charges are pending against the accomplice.There is no indication that the victim and the accused were acquainted. Neither Young nor his accomplice were students at North Point.DETECTIVES CHARGE SUSPECT IN ARMED ROBBERY OF WESTLAKE DASH IN: On Dec. 10, Charles County Sheriff's detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division arrested a 15 year old male in connection with the armed robbery of the Westlake Dash In that occurred on Dec. During the robbery, the suspect entered the store, approached a clerk, showed part of a gun and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled. Detectives received a tip in the case and subsequently identified the suspect. Investigators also recovered evidence at the suspect's house linking him to the crime. The youth was charged with armed robbery and remanded to a juvenile holding facility.THEFT: Between Dec. 7 Dec. 10, unknown suspect(s) stole a trailer from the parking lot of a business in the 8300 block of Old Leonardtown Road in Waldorf. The trailer is black and has diamond plating on the front lower half. At the time the trailer was stolen, it was loaded with trash. Pfc. M. Hancock is investigating.BURGLARY: Between Dec. 6 Dec. 8, unknown suspects stole several large pieces of pottery from the Waldorf Pottery in the 4700 block of Crain Highway in White Plains. One of the items was recovered by officers who canvassed the area after the break in was reported. Officer K. Lerch is investigating.FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On Dec. An argument ensued between the two groups of men at which point one of the males threw a punch. Both men fled the restaurant where an off duty Charles County Sheriff's Officer who was working secondary employment observed them and rendered immediate aid. The suspect, Davis, exited the restaurant and continued to threaten the victims at which point the officer, Cpl. C. Roberts, was able to Powder Blue 10s apprehended him and place him in handcuffs. While Cpl. Roberts was waiting for back up and continuing to render aid to the victims, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by an off duty officer who was responding to the scene. The victims were transported to a hospital where they were treated for their injuries and later released. Davis was charged with attempted murder, first degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon. He was remanded o the Charles County Detention Center.
