Description:

this theme is the default in
Ubuntu Ultimate 1.8 ,info and download:
http://ultimateedition.info/Ultimate_Edition_1.8/

A very very overglossed theme I made....
I was unsure if I wanted to release it but
I remembered some people liking my other
themes...... Whatever , go here to fix
any browser font problems (for most browsers):
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504
it works like a charm and is very easy to use!
Big thanks to code933k for making it!

package contains gtk and metacity themes
(controls and window borders)

oh, and you can tweak the colors using
gnome theme manager.

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here
3.open a terminal and run this command:
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/Overglossed /usr/share/themes

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the Overglossed theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

Any suggestions and feedback very welcome!

for the metacity code I used the codebase

of scaled black murrina made by twigsby.
everything else made by me from scratch.

HUGE thanks to artist taner for is exceptionally
beautiful artwork wallpaper!!!!

Changelog:

0.2 Changed the menubar highlight and re-made the menues (now we have overglassy menues to ;D)

0.3 You can now have white input boxes
(as shown on screenshot 3) cause I changed
some color inheritance (combobox now has
different inhertitance and cursor in
box inherits text color).

0.4 Now comes as a theme, Included taners
amazing wallpaper he provided for this theme!!!

04.08.2008 Taner made a new wallpaper,
It is absolutely fantastic! Uploaded with
that one and changed screenshots.
a HUGE thank you again Taner! You are
the best!

two questions you rather expected:

1) which font are you using
2) where can we find the glassy foot icon you use in the bottom right menu button.

It's good theme but I don't like the colour of menubar. I think it should be little darker.
BTW thanks for sharing

thank you guys!

the menubutton is located at:
$HOME/.themes/Overglossed/gtk-2.0/panel/panel-button-menu-blue.png

the font is the absolutely amazing zekton:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Zekton?content=50553

As for the toolbar I know what you mean,
this is still first release so there are
a lot of things that probably don't look right.
Thanks for your feedback , I will consider
a different toolbar to next release :)

Thanks!

The only suggestion that I have at this point would be to "tone down" the active selection highlight blue color. For example, the color of active selected bookmarks in Firefox or folders in Thunderbird.

I think that it is too "bright" of a blue in contrast to the more steel colored blues that you are using elsewhere.

Thanks!

Thank you!

you can actually choose your own highlight
color for items.... just open gnome theme manager and go to customize and
colors and there choose the colors you want :)

I knew that... :-)

Just thought it might be something to consider for the default.

I did change it from:

#17B2FF

to:

#1D78A6

which seems a little better, but could perhaps still be tweaked a bit more.

BTW, any chance of getting the WM theme for Emerald? :-)

Thanks!

Oh!! yeah, that, yeah I know the colors
are all a little bit of, as said it is
very first release, I will try to find a better
color for the next release :D

will try out your color.

I will make a emerald out of it when I have
the time :)

How do you make the panel has round border?

that is actually fake....

I just loaded the panel backgrounds manually
(it is an image with the width of 1280
that has rounded corners)

gnome-panel does not support rounded corners.

sry to disappoint you.
