Description:

This is a clone of the windows vista aero style.

This theme is based on etiennealaurent`s LiNsta theme which you can get here:
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/LiNsta+%28LiNsta+is+Not+Vista+%3B-%29?content=42697

What makes this theme special:

-Apps have different toolbar styles!
Nautilus = green
Eog (gnome picture viewer) = black
all other apps have normal gray toolbars

-The Vista button is not a wallpaper (its a screenlet)

----------Installation------------

visit the installation Howto at my blog:
http://gnomestyle.blogspot.com/2007/05/make-ubuntu-look-like-vista.html

0.This theme needs the microsoft segoe UI font to look good.
Look at this Forum > second post
http://www.crashboard.net/index.php?showtopic=1750&pid=17968&mode=threaded&start=

1.Install the beryl and gtk theme as usuall

2.Install the nuoveXT-aero icon set

or

Place the "start-here" icon in /usr/share/icons/gnome/32x32/places or run the "place-the-icon.sh" script in the terminal (it asks for the root password)

3. Change the gnome-panel size to 32px height

4.Install the "orb" screenlet (you need to have the application "screenlets" installed). Place the orb screenlet above the main-menu button and lock the position.

You can get "Screenlets" here:
http://www.compiz.org/Desktop_Screenlets

 Cool

Very nice. Great idea on how to do that thing with the start icon.

I would take it, but I can't properly run Beryl (not good enough hardware for blur. Last time I tried Ubuntu almost died).

What does it look like without the Beryl theme, and what theme is that?

Is it just me or am I the only nVidia user here who hasn't suffered from the black window bug? (Yes, I know that's not your problem.)

Nautilus path:
White font and white background doesn't look great! :-)

I hope you fix this problem soon! This is the best Vista look like theme!

 Something wrong?

Using this theme the main menu bar has a very clear colour (clear blue and white) and the text is white. Can you explain me how can I change the colour of the main menu bar?

Thank you!

Sorry, I need an English teacher :p

Okay,
I got the icon to work. For some reason the theme was keeping the human icon set instead of Gnome. Switched to Gnome and it worked. I didn't like Gnome as much as Human so i edited human and fixed it. But now i still get a problem with the Menu-bar object being a light blue color with white text. Any fix?

I recommend the nouveXT icon set.
It fits well to this theme, and the start icon works.
Maybe I upload an edited version with the panel start button included.

I got the icon problem fixed. The problem is with the menu bar object in the GTK theme. It is white text on a light blue background instead of the vista white/black gradient with white text.

Hi! Sorry, my English is very bad and I think that I don't explain my problem correctly.

I try it again :) I like this theme but I want to keep the GNome Main Menu Bar. So I don't install the Vista button and orb screenlet. The problem is that Main Menu Bar appears with light blue and white color and white text.

Can you tell me how to change de Main Menu Bar colour or text colour? I would like a medium dark blue colour with white text or a clear colour with black text.

This link shows the main menu bar using aero clone theme.

Thank you very much, this theme is the most beautiful I have seen.

Thanks! With the last update the text in the main menu bar is black with clear background.

Good job, this theme is perfect.
