Candido Engine is the Gtk2 cairo-based engine for new Candido themes.

This engine was expecially designed to be fast light and clean, and to be wonderful as Candido pixmaps themes, and different.

Yes Candido Engine is different, it's more contrasted and more flat, that's my new Candido proposal!

On official website, http://candido.berlios.de:
Source code availble, package for ubuntu, pkgbuild for archlinux.

### Installation Instructions: ###
After the extraction of the file, go in the source dir and compile as following:

./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-animation

make install

### Gtkrc options: ###
- scrollbar_color = "#value" sets scrollbar color
- contrast: 1.0 = default contrast, 0.5-0.7 = smooth
- menubarstyle: 0 = flat, 1 = gradient
- menubaritemstyle: 0 = flat, 1 = gradient
- squaredstyle: 0 = rounded, 1 = squared
- animation: TRUE = enabled, FALSE = disabled

### Themes by me: ###

* Two useless piece of code removed
* Fixed rendering of the progressbar beginning/ending
* Stolen various bugfixes from gtk-engines-cvs

* Polished code, fix leak in buttons. Updated the theme to use dark color schemes. New menuitems

* Initial public release

0.10 - Polished code and corrected titlebar text color.
0.9 - First public release.
0.10 - Added "Less" and "Squared versions. Improved inactive titlebar color.
0.9 - First public release.

Your theme looks really great!
I installed your ubuntu package at my Ubuntu 6.06. But how to "activate" it now? (I'm new to Linux).

Thanks for any hint in advance!

Hi, I downloaded the ubuntu file and installed the package. I'm a bit new to ubuntu and linux commands. When I try to run the
./configure --prefix=/usr--enable-animation

command it gives me this error
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

I am not familiar how to get to the source directory. Any suggestions?

Thanks cimi for quick reply. I successfully compile it on my system and build SuSE 10.1 rpm. Shall I send it to you as contrib packages?

 Themes don't work !

by macraph on: Feb 10 2007

Hello everyone. I really like the candido engine but I have a little problem. Only very few themes work. I've installed the Ubuntu candido engine package, but the only themes that works are those wich contain many files such as "scrollbars", "arrows"... in the main theme folder. The others themes, with just the gtkrc file don't work. The only themes working are Condido, Candido Graphite. Candido-Candy for example doesn't work such as all the others. Anybody can help ? Do I miss a dependency ? What can I do ?
