Description:

Hello !

Sugar is sweet, as this theme (hopefully) !

Enough of bad joke, this theme is meant to be very clean and nice. Good for both professional and personal use I think.

It includes a dark menu version you can choose from Controls customization.

It is sensitive to color changes so you can customize it to your liking.
It comes with 5 sets of predefined colors : Blue (Sugar), Gray (SugarGrey), Green (SugarGreen), Orange (SugarOrange) and Brown (SugarUbuntu)

Sets use the great Gion Icon Theme. You can find it here : http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Gi%C3%B8n?content=36944
Ubuntu and Orange sets use the Human Icon Theme ubuntu-mono-dark that comes with Ubuntu.

Feedbacks and bug reports appreciated !!!

Don't forget to vote if you like it.

Excellent theme! I love it, i think you should mention in your description that the themes colors are customizable! Looks great with grey highlights and also with the panel image from the Dust theme.

NICE WORK :)

Thanks !

I took my inspiration from many theme, Dust is one of them that is probably why the panel image fit good.

I did mention about the color customization, I will make it bold so it is more visible. It's an very important point in a theme and it is probably why I don't use Dust and made this one.

I'm interested about the color you used. If you (or anybody) send a comment with a color set maybe I will add it to the theme if I like it.

Hmmm... I am not sure because i am no designer. But you should not destroy it by making mac-ish buttons. They are enough of theme on gnome-look. Your theme is very elegant but the buttons of the metacity are tooooo minimalistic. how about a little glow when clicking on it? maybe something into this direction: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Intrepid/Kin_Tonic?action=AttachFile&do=view&target=Kin_Tonic-Compiz_GWD_Style-Human_Murrine.png

there is one thing too: the text over ther progressbar is black and the progressbar is darkbrown (ubuntu-version). that means the text is hardly readable. maybe the text should be brighter.

thanks for your nice theme and i wonder why it is still not top 5 in gnome-look.

Thank for the reply.

Yes the buttons are very minimalistic, it takes a lot of time to do icons without using PNG files.
I do not use PNG files, so the buttons can match the color defined by the user.
I still want to improve them, it will just take some time.

For the text hover the progressbar I will correct it, it should be white like when hovering menuitem.

Stay tuned.

 Menubar color

In first place, congratulations because this great theme! It replaced Shiki-Colors in my desktop!

But there is a little bug, in Firefox and OpenOffice the menu bar isn't dark to match with window decoration. Please fix it because I like this theme so much!

I already know about this bug and still looking for a workaround.

If I let the menubar dark the text remain dark because Firefox and OpenOffice use the MenuItem text color which is wrong. That is why I can't make a dark MenuBar with light MenuItems.

Ok! Thank you for answering.
I note other little bug: sometimes metacity decoration turns gray in some windows. I'm using compiz with Ubuntu 8.10.

I don't have this bug. Are you able to reproduce it and send a screenshot ?
Is it specific to a particular window/application ?

Maybe it is a compiz related bug.

Here is the screenshot. It is a synaptic window in root mode. I tried with other decorations and they don't fail.

And for the other bug (menubar color), shiki-colors can tint firefox and openOffice menubars, maybe it can help.

Ok i see, I cannot reproduce the metacity bug but I think it is related to the way I draw the buttons. I will redo that part.

ShikiColors has dark menubar and DARK menuitem that is why there is no problem. My theme has dark menubar and LIGHT menuitem.

Firefox and OpenOffice take the color of the menuitem text, which is dark in my case, for the text of the menubar => dark text on dark background = unreadable.

Thank for your help.

I think this has to do with the compiz titlebar bug, it occurs on nvidia drivers lower than version 180 i think. and its only on pixmap engines so far i can remember.

not your theme.

Kind Regards MikeDK

Hope this helps

MikeDK is right! The bug is solved by updating nvidia drivers to 180 version.

I'm enjoying so much this theme! Waiting next version to get the little detail (menubar color) solved!

Thank you MikeDK for the solution and SamSamTSfor this theme!

I don't even know the distribution you are using.

On Debian based you can type this in a terminal :
dpkg -l | grep murrine

First of all click on link and install stylish on firefox and then, click on "Load into Stylish" button.

Hope it helps while SamSamTS fix it.
