Description:

A dark theme with red highlights for GTK2 and Metacity. Works great on the MATE desktop environment.

The gnome-carbonite icon theme, part of the Gnome Colors icon set, blends well with this theme. The Gnome Colors icon set can be found here:
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GNOME-colors?content=82562

The blue version of this theme can be found here:

I like the look but would you be open making some alternate colors?

Which components are you wanting to change (buttons, progressbar, etc.)? And which colors are you thinking about?

Turn the red and green buttons to black/grey and use this as window texture http://imgchili.com/show/18816/18816828_screamin_flower.jpg

Everything else is perfect. *Of course upload as a new different or alternate theme :)

The green buttons in my screenshot are part of the icon theme and will change with your desired icon theme. The red items and background texture can be changed easily. I"ll get this done today.

Unfortunately the image you supplied isn't going to work. This image has a gradient and it will look horrible when tiled across a window. If you can find an image that doesn't have a gradient applied to it I can use it and this would be an easy project.

Ok, I found a new technique that lets me change gradients and I've finished the theme you requested. Please download the theme from this link and see if it meets your needs:

Ok, got one slight issue:

The active tabs in my browser (both Chrome and FireFox) highlight white and text is white, so text cannot be seen.

This doesn't happen in Melissa (tab remains grey) - just in Charlotte.
I tried swapping controls etc, nothing helped.

On another note you should upload Charlotte as a new theme so I can comment directly on it. I don't mind sharing :)

 Uploading Charlotte

I wasn't going to upload Charlotte because I felt it was "your" theme since you made the changes.. I merely did the graphics work. However, if you don't mind sharing I will indeed upload it as a new theme. Thank you very much :)
